I need answers, but I KNOW some questions are unanswerable. Still, I know I can count on you, here, the folks at Daily Kos to help me feel less frustrated, find some humor in the situation in which we all find ourselves, and give me encouragement that in the end, WE, the people, will triumph over the dufus evil dolt in the WH and his minions.
Some are more rhetorical than others, cause in essence I know the answer...aka rating, corporate media priorities..
*Why are the media so obsessed with Trump voters? Why do they not give a damn about the rest of us???
*Why are the media still giving a pass to jerks like Kelly? I don’t care how many stars on his general shirt, he had not done anything to deter the idiocy of POS Potus!
I don’t really know too many in the military. While my dad and all his brothers and b-i-ls all were veterans of WWII, my generation (boomers) were not so much into going to Nam. I have one cousin and a b-i-l who served in Vietnam. Both are Rs but both hate Trump. Yet, it seems like the military and vets are still pro R, pro Trump.
*Why are so many in the military so convinced the Rs are for them??? I know the dems were as bad as the Rs when it came to war but when it comes to helping veterans, how the h*ll can any of them think this dude and his minions give a damn?
About this tax law. I am confused. According to some stuff I read, much of it won’t go into effect until 2019 because the POS Potus won’t “sign” it until January, 2018.
*But did he not sign it already? Did I dream that? I know there will be a signing ceremony in January but it seemed to me POS Potus made a big deal about signing it to “show the media”. So which is it? Is it signed and will the cuts and changes take effect in 2018?
I am 72. POS Potus is the worst thing, imo, that every happened to this country. But I understand that nothing happens in a vacuum. WE, the people, started giving away our OF, FOR, BY the people for decades, because of passivity, laziness, and willful ignorance. I watched much of Watergate and i was so proud that Nixon got taken down. I despised what he represented. It was an “undo” that was needed to heal after so many, too many out of anger in ‘68 refused to support Humphrey. He was not my choice but I never understood how allowing Nixon to win was the answer. I never got how dems turned on Jimmy Carter, allowing Reagan to cheat his way into office and begin the downward spiral of labor, where union members gave away the store by supporting one of the most anti union candidates ever, TWICE, the second time after he publicly fired PATCO. Yet, here we are today, with too many union members who supported another anti union jerk. My town, the one in which I spent my childhood, Conshohocken, PA was featured last week in the NYT as what was left of the once massive Steel Mill is now cutting the jobs of a over 100 employees. In the article, more than a few of the steel workers admitted they voted for DT and believed him.
So…..
*How the h*ll do people, ANY PEOPLE, believe a guy with a documented history of lying, who lies when his lips move, who is a documented anti union, anti labor, cheat? There are lines of contractors who have been cheated by the liar and some (union, labor members) STILL believe him??
**WHY??? HOW???
I know I am one of the lucky ones. I am not rich but I am OK. I worked over 40 years as an educator in public schools. I am proud of that. I was active in my unions and was on strike twice. I have a decent retirement and I am on Medicare with a supplement. I do not worry that much of what this a**h*le and his R cronies do will affect me too much. But I DO WORRY about friends whose only income is SS, friends who have disabled siblings for whom they care and who survive on SSI and Medicaid. I DO WORRY about the grandchildren and mess we may leave them, the dirty, unsafe air, water and food thanks to selfish, self serving Rs. I despise Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell almost as much as I despise POTUS and VP. I marched in my 20s and 30s against and for things. I marched last year. I will march again whenever and as long as my body holds out but I still worry.
**Can we, will we be able to stop the destruction that is this POS Potus and the R Libertarians that have taken over and corrupted our governance???
